THE waiting is over.
The new name for Worcester's former fire station - as it changes into luxury apartments and an artisan food hall and wine shop - has been revealed.
Worcester MP Robin Walker was among local dignitaries invited to the big reveal and unveiled a shiny new plaque revealing the new name of the development.
There were cheers and laughter from the 25 strong crowd as the plaque revealed the old fire station will now officially be called 'The Old Fire Station.'
Among the crowd were councillors, Lynn Denham and Jabba Riaz, Ben Roberts, managing director of the property developer, Guthrie Roberts, and Mayor Stephen Hodgson.

The landmark building in the city’s Copenhagen Street will be transformed into 28 luxury apartments and an artisan food hall and wine shop in just twelve short months.
Malvern-based developer Guthrie Roberts is behind the multi-million-pound plans to convert the former fire station into apartments with Richard Everton, owner of Bottles in New Street, in charge of the new food hall and wine shop.
The food hall is set to include crepes and pastries, tapas, rotisserie chicken, a delicatessen and a large selection of beer and wine.
The building, which has been left empty since fire chiefs relocated in 2015, was built between 1939 and 1941 by Percy Thomas, who also designed the former police station which sits opposite.
