THERE are 11 new names on the list of Worcester food businesses that have received a five star food hygiene ratings from health inspectors.

Cafes, pubs and education settings selling food are among those listed after latest inspections by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Ratings are judged by inspectors over the standards in the handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and pest control, how food safety is managed and evidence staff know about food safety.

Five-star Worcester businesses to make the list, and the date they were inspected, are:

  • Boof’s Cafe At Redpoint, The Old Railway Yard, Midland Road (June 10)
  • Headway Worcestershire, The Mill, Gregorys Mill Street (June 17)
  • Delightful Desserts, College Street (June 17)
  • Green Lane Pre-School @ St Barnabas CE Primary School, Green Lane (June 17)
  • Newbridge Short Stay Secondary School, Midland Road (June 11)
  • Oasis Academy Warndon, Edgeworth Close (June 18)
  • The Kings Head, Sidbury (June 18)
  • The Saracens Head, The Tything (June 15)
  • The Steamhouse, Foregate Street (June 15)
  • The Tything Coffee Club, The Tything (June 15)
  • The View At Heart Of Worcestershire College, Deansway (June 11)

Meanwhile there are no new names on the list of one star food rated businesses.

This means the list of one star-rated places remains:

  • Fortune House in John’s
  • Groszek in Lowesmoor
  • Age UK Worcester And District Lunch Club
  • Bilford Court and Your’s Pizza Bite / Little India in Ronkswood Hill.
  • Happy Taste in Orchard Street continues to have a zero rating after an inspection in April.
