STUDENTS at RGS Worcester enjoyed a visit by an AI expert in educational technology at the school’s latest Apple Regional Training Centre event.
Priya Lakhani is the founder CEO of Century Tech, an award-winning artificial intelligence (AI) educational technology company that produces intelligent software that each of the RGS schools are currently trialling.
Priya’s mission is to help teachers across the world remove learning roadblocks so that every student can succeed and she shared her vision for AI in education at this event.
She detailed all the advances in technology that are part of the AI systems that Century Tech are building, aiding pupils develop in their learning.
She was focused on the fact that this was not to replace teachers with a computer but to help teachers with quality personalised homework, assessments modules and additional study tools for pupils to reinforce learning outcomes.
John Jones, director of Innovation, said: “It was incredible to hear about the possibilities afforded by AI in Education from someone with the knowledge and passion of Priya Lakhani.
“She created Century Tech to improve education and we are proud to be involved in utilising a technology that shows so much promise. This is all about children being able to learn more effectively”.
Priya added: “I was honoured to be asked by RGS Worcester to share my insights. AI is having a transformative effect on education, from improving the way that children learn to making teacher’s lives easier and more productive.”
