A DRUNK who hurled racist abuse and a nuisance who pestered people at a Worcester soup kitchen now face tougher controls.
John Smith, 35, formerly of Droitwich and known to frequent Worcester was given a two year criminal behaviour order (CBO) on Monday for two racially aggravated public order offences and affray. Smith was jailed for 14 months for these offences, committed in Worcester on April 16, and for breach of a suspended sentence for assault. The CBO prevents him: refusing to leave a premises/area when asked by someone in authority; behaving in any manner that causes/is likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress; entering Droitwich as defined on a map; entering Worcester City Centre save to attend the offices of his solicitors; consuming alcohol or being in possession of an open vessel in any designated area; entering any retail premises whilst drunk.
Robert Evans, 48, living at a Worcester guest house was given a CBO for a drunk and disorderly offence committed on September 7 last year whilst attending the soup kitchen in Copenhagen Street, Worcester. He was fined £80. The CBO had been adjourned several times, but was granted on Monday for three years. He is banned from drinking alcohol or being in possession of alcohol or being drunk in any designated area; refusing to leave premises when asked by someone who has authority to do so and from being in Copenhagen Street, Worcester when the soup kitchen is operating or attending/approaching any other city soup kitchens.
Dean Davis, 54, of Droitwich was given a CBO for theft of food from Poundland, theft of alcohol from M&S and public disorder, all committed on the September 21 last year. Davis was jailed for eight weeks two days later. On Monday, magistrates granted a two year CBO which bans him from consuming alcohol in prohibited areas, refusing to leave a premises/area when requested and from entering Worcester city centre except for pre-arranged appointments with the probation service and medics.
