RESIDENTS in certain areas of Worcester will now be able to visit the city's first pop up vaccine centre for their first Covid jab.
Public Health in Worcestershire, together with NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Worcester City Council are working to help people in parts of Worcester get their first vaccination where they haven’t been able to already.
Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: "Across Worcestershire vaccine take up has been really good and we are so grateful to everyone who has come forward so far.
"We do know there are some areas where take up is lower, meaning pockets of people who will be more vulnerable to COVID-19.
"I am delighted St John's Ambulance and local NHS partners have joined with us to put on this 'pop up clinic' in the city.
"It is the first of its kind in the county and will make it much easier and more convenient for people to get vaccinated.
"This not only protects themselves but also helps to protect their loved ones and local neighbourhood."
The 'pop-up clinic' is taking place this week at the King George V (KGV) Community Hub off Brickfields Road in Worcester and will be in place for one week until Friday 28 May.
From Monday 24 May, residents who are 32 years and older and who live in postcode areas WR4 9 (Gorse Hill) and WR4 9 & WR3 8 (Rainbow Hill) can book an appointment for their first vaccination by contacting Worcester City Council on 01905 722233 between the hours of 8.30am and 9.00pm.
