Councillor Richard Udall was out in St John’s for the recent local elections when he says he discovered a man who had become disconnected with the outside world.
2. Worcestershire joiner wins Apprentice of the year after Covid hospitalisation
Harry Castle won Apprentice of the Year in the Federation of Master Builders' 2021 Midlands awards after a challenging year which also saw him hospitalised with coronavirus.
3. Woman changes careers to work in the hospital that saved her life
Dawn-Marie Wright, 45, discovered she had ovarian cancer in 2011 - the same year her only nephew was born. She said: "I am so grateful to have been able to watch my nieces and nephew grow up. They mean the world to me."
4. Worcester's Sixways Stadium to host one of first festivals post lockdown
Worcester Disco Festival's Ibiza Classics Festival is set to be held at Sixways Stadium on August 21, which organisers say will be the first open air music festival in city after the government's last roadmap date of June 21.
5. A Worcestershire birdwatcher's eight hour wait to sight the rare Golden Oriole
Birdwatchers gathered in the car park at the nature reserve in Hallow last weekend in the hope of catching a glimpse of the bird which is rarely seen in the UK.
