A BIKER, seriously injured in a crash near Worcester, has been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The crash took place in Fernhill Heath on Monday afternoon, with police shutting off a section of the Droitwich Road while medics treated the motorcyclist in the road.

The Worcester News understands the crash was between a bike and a white van, taking place at around 12.15pm.

Among the emergency services that attended the scene were two ambulances and a critical care paramedic, as well as police vehicles.

Motorists were asked to turn around and avoid the area while the biker received treatment, before initially being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and later moved to the QE in Birmingham.

On social media Sharon Adams said: "I hope he is OK fingers crossed he recovers very soon", while Michelle Munro added: "Hope all are OK".
