A 53-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with two children in Worcester.
Steven Brocklehurst, 53, of Alderley Road, Bromsgrove appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday accused of attempting to send intimate photos of himself to two people he believed to be children aged 13.
He did not indicate pleas to two charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child in Worcester. One offence is alleged to have taken place between December 18, 2018 and June 30, 2019 and the second between December 31, 2019 and June 30, 2019.
The charges are listed as ‘attempts’ because the alleged correspondence was said by the prosecutor, Aleigha Adams, to involve a ‘decoy vigilante group’ rather than communication with actual children.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction and the case was adjourned for a further hearing at Worcester Crown Court on June 10. In the meantime, Brocklehurst was granted unconditional bail.
