ONE of the first festivals, where dancing will be allowed after Covid restrictions are lifted, is set to go ahead in Worcester this August.
Worcester Disco Festival's Ibiza Classics Festival is set to be held at Sixways Stadium on August 21, which organisers say will be the first open air music festival in city after the government's last roadmap date of June 21, when larger events are allowed to resume.
Jay Newman, founder of projecteventsuk behind the family friendly festival, said: "It's exciting news for our city that we are finally able to put on a festival with no restrictions again.
"The vibe is going to be something really special as people will be able to dance and enjoy the event with no Covid restrictions.
"It's going to be one of Worcester's only festivals this summer and we are making it one to remember."
Live DJ’s will be performing on the day, which takes place between 2pm and 9pm, with Ibiza favourite Graeme Park (Hacienda) the headliner.
There will be two stages, the main stage having disco and classic tracks, while the second stage will include funk and soul music.
The event will include a licensed bar, award winning street food, children's entertainment, face painting and a bouncy castle.
The event, being sponsored by Worcester Computers and This is Union, costs £10 entry with tickets available from projecteventsuk.com.
