THIS week the Worcester Life Stories team has been busily preparing for the launch of our two online platforms Know Your Place Worcester and Life Stories Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Over the past few months we’ve been overwhelmed by the amazing contributions of local people, sharing their stories and knowledge of the city and bringing the photographs that we’ve shared via these articles and our online quizzes to life.

The photographs and information that we’ve shared from the Worcester City Historic Environment Record help to paint a picture of the streets and buildings of our historic city, but it’s those personal accounts that bring life and colour to the images.

With the launch of Know Your Place Worcester, we hope to capture those memories for generations to come, so that we can all continue to share stories into the future.

Most of the photographs shown here today have been shared by local people and just go to show the amazing wealth of material that is tucked away in albums or drawers at home, with the potential to tell us more about our local history, and the communities that have lived and worked here.

We would love to hear from anyone who has stories, knowledge or photographs of Worcester.

Throughout this project we’ve also seen the benefits of life story work for improving wellbeing, enabling reminiscence and enhancing relationships; the new NHS-hosted Life Stories Herefordshire & Worcestershire platform will ensure that producing your own personal story is easier than ever. Do get in touch or join us for our virtual launch on Saturday!
