OCCUPATIONAL therapy students from the University of Worcester have helped transform a log cabin into a new sensory room.
The new sensory room in the grounds of Fort Royal Community Primary School has taken six months to create.
Margaret Jones responsible for fundraising and grants applications said: “This is another excellent facility for our children and we have been very fortunate to secure the £7,500 we needed to equip the log cabin once the conversion had taken place, it has enabled us to have more space for sensory learning experiences for our children in a safe, vibrant and comfortable environment. There is a wide range of equipment which can be easily moved around set on cushioned foam flooring for comfort and safety to suit the individual needs of pupils attending the school. It is another step forward in providing the best possible opportunities for sensory challenged children.”
She said students had been ‘instrumental’ in creating the room.
