A POPULAR nurse has been nominated for a Worcestershire Health & Social Care Award.
Nina Lealan from Abbottswood Medical Centre has been nominated for the Good Nurse Award.
One of the readers' nominations for Mrs Lealen said: “Nina has spent her whole life in the Health Care Profession, but the last 14 years she has focused on the community of Pershore.
“She splits her time between her team leader role and her role as Practice Nurse Clinical Lead for Herefordshire & Worcestershire CCG.
“Not only is she passionate about her patients but she in passionate about the people she works with and the nursing profession.
“In her role with the CCG she works closely with the University of Worcester supporting them with their GP surgery mentoring scheme for student nurses. She is tireless in her pursuit of excellence. She is truly inspirational, her commitment to her profession her patients goes beyond what is expected.”
On hearing about the nomination, Mrs Lealan said it was a boost at the end of her latest shift.
“Thank you so much,” Mrs Lealan said. “It is fantastic that a general practice nurse has been nominated so if this is awarded to me it will be for all of my nursing colleagues in general practice who work so hard.”

Voting closes on April 2 and our panel of judges will choose the finalists, who will be featured in our titles.
Winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on May 27.
