A DELIVERY worker has slammed a sandwich chain in the city for preventing him from using washing facilities when picking up orders.
The Uber Eats delivery person - who does not want to be identified out of fear of losing work - said when collecting from Subway in Warndon Villages, he is not allowed to use the toilet along with other couriers when collecting take aways for customers who have ordered through the app.
The American fast food restaurant currently has franchises at The Cross, Shrub Hill Retail Park, St John’s as well as Droitwich Road and Friar Street.

The source told the Worcester News: “I also deliver for Macdonald’s and everything is different there with places to wash your hands and tables set aside for couriers - it’s run really well.
“When I pick up from this branch of Subway, I have to stand outside in the freezing cold and can only go inside to pick up an order and go straight outside again.
“Meanwhile, during busy times, I’ve seen staff in there all standing together and customers standing close to each other - why are they not standing outside?
“I’ve had pleasant experiences at other Subway places in the area.”
A spokesman for Subway said the company would discuss the issue with the franchisee.
A spokesman for Subway said: “We take the health and safety of our guests and Sandwich Artists very seriously.
"We require franchisees to adhere to all rules to help stop the spread of coronavirus and they have been advised that bathrooms are to remain unlocked to allow all guests, which includes our essential delivery driver-partners, to follow proper handwashing hygiene procedures.
"We will contact the franchisee of this store to ensure that they are doing so.”
