NEW vaccine figures show which parts of the city have seen the most people receive coronavirus jabs so far.

The area with the highest percentage of people receiving at least one Covid vaccine dose is Lower Wick and Bromwich Road.

Almost half of the people aged 16 and above have received at least one dose based on NHS England vaccination data and population estimate by the Office for National Statistics.

A total of 3,261 people in Lower Wick and Bromwich Road have so far received at least one jab.

Rough population estimates based on ONS data from mid-2019 show just over 48 per cent of people aged 16 and older have received one jab or more in Lower Wick and Bromwich Road.

A total of 2,976 people have received a jab in Northwick – around 45 per cent of the estimated population – and 2,874 people have received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine in Battenhall and Diglis – almost 42 per cent of people.

As many as 1,454 people have received at least one Covid jab in Worcester Town North - the area covering many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes –which the city centre towards Arboretum and Barbourne.

Percentages for the city for the number of people receiving at least one jab varies from 28 to 48 per cent with the city centre showing the lowest figures.

The figures for Worcester Town North show an estimated 28 per cent of people in the area have received at least one jab – the lowest in the city.

Around 31 per cent of people have been vaccinated in Worcester Town South - which covers the city centre towards Worcester Cathedral as well as Sidbury, parts of London Road, Wyld's Lane and Lowesmoor - making it the second lowest in the city.

The third lowest in the city was 34 per cent of people in King George's Field - which covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road.

Roughly 41 per cent of people in St Peters have received one jab compared to 39 per cent in Lyppard Grange.

The figures are split into several ‘middle super output areas’ which are used by the ONS. Worcester is split into 14 zones with an average population of around 7,200 people in each.

Most of the city's over 70s have now received at least one Covid jab, based on NHS and ONS figures.

As many as 31,514 people in Worcester have received at least one jab as of February 21 - roughly 30 per cent of the total population. Of the people in Worcester who have received at least one jab, 18,875 people were aged under 70 and 8,010 people were aged between 70 and 79. A total of 4,629 people aged 80 and above have received at least one jab so far.
