A SURGERY has been receiving nominations for our prestigious award.
The Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards 2021 has launched and Whiteacres Medical Centre has been getting nominated by readers.
The surgery, in Maple Road, Malvern, has been nominated for the team of the year accolade.
One reader wrote: “Throughout this Covid outbreak they have always given outstanding service.
“You can always get through to the fantastic reception team who listen carefully to your request. I have never failed to talk to a doctor and every problem has been dealt with promptly and efficiently.
“They have been running an excellent vaccination service and like everything they do it ran like clockwork but at the same time they made you feel that you were a special patient.”
Mandy Long, deputy practice manager, said they were delighted to be getting nominations, adding: “It is nice to be recognised, to hear those comments.
"All practices have been hard at work during the pandemic. Our vaccination programme has been going well - we are vaccinating as many as we can, as soon as we can, for the people of Malvern.”
The 2021 Health and Social Care Awards categories are: The Health Care Team Award, The Care Hero Award, The Care Home Worker Award, The Care Trainer Award, The Health Care Employer Award, Domiciliary Care Worker Award, The Good Nurse Award, Adolescent and Child Health Care Award, The Dementia Carer Award, The Palliative/ End of Life Care Award, The Mental Health Award, and the GP Practice of the Year Award.
The awards are supported by MPs Robin Walker (Worcester), Harriett Baldwin (West Worcestershire) and Nigel Huddleston (Mid Worcestershire).
Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has backed the awards by becoming a partner, and we are calling out to other organisations to sponsor the awards to show their appreciation for the county’s health and care workers.
Michael Purton, the editor of the Worcester News, Malvern Gazette and Evesham Journal, said: “The people who work in the health and social care industry have always been an inspiration, not just during the pandemic.
"These awards are our way of thanking them for their incredible dedication and skill.
"I would urge all of our readers to nominate an individual or team, to show them how much you appreciate everything they do.”
