A FUNDRAISING page has been set up for a little girl after her mum, Christina Rowe, was killed in Worcester.
Sophie Pugh, a friend of Miss Rowe’s family, set up a GoFundMe page for her daughter, who turns nine this Sunday.
She said she wanted to give the girl a "special" birthday despite the heartbreak of the past week.
She wrote: “I am trying to raise a little bit of cash for a little girl who has tragically lost her mummy. It is her 9th birthday next Sunday, 21st.
“Let’s try and make this little girl's birthday a special one.
“At such a young age, I cannot start to think about what the little girl may be going through.
“I am in contact with the little girl's family, and have made them aware of what I am doing.”
Miss Rowe’s sister, Steve Hy. said: “We are grateful for all the love, support, and care people are showing and giving. No good deeds go unnoticed.”
George Samuel Devereux, a close friend of Miss Rowe, added: “Anyone who knows me, knows of Christina and how important she was to me. She was the person who had my heart, and there will forever be a place in it for her.
“I praise a God I didn’t before believe in, firstly for not taking you both, and for gifting me the ability to absorb and capture some of your essence, to share it with others and the daughter you lived for.
“It’s said that a person lives two lives, the first is our own, the second lives in the memories of others, and I will keep you alive in mine forever."
The funding page has already surpassed its goal of £300 and had reached £830 as of the time of writing.
The body of Miss Rowe, who was 28, was pulled from the River Severn on Thursday, following an overnight search by police, firefighters and specialist divers.
The discovery came after police cordoned off three locations in the city - Cheviot Close in Tolladine, where Miss Rowe lived, a home in Waterworks Road, and Diglis footbridge, on Wednesday.
Charles Byrne, aged 24, of Waterworks Road, Worcester has been charged with murder and the attempted murder of a second person and appeared in court on Friday.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody before a scheduled appearance at Worcester Crown Court today (Tuesday, February 15).
