A WOMAN whose body was found in the River Severn has been named locally as Christina Rowe.
She was in her late 20s and originally from the Philippines. She lived in Cheviot Close, one of the locations which police cordoned off yesterday.
Officers confirmed earlier that they had found the body of a woman in the River Severn in Worcester after a search which started yesterday.
Two further police cordons were set up in the city - at Diglis footbridge, where police were joined by firefighters and specialist divers in their search, and at a home at Waterworks Road.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Dean Jones, said: “Unfortunately, we have located the body of a woman in her 20s in the River Severn during our searches last night.

"The family have been informed, but formal identification has not yet taken place.”
He continued: “A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday and remains in police custody, this is an isolated incident and I can confirm that we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.”
