POLICE have confirmed they have found the body of a woman in the River Severn.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Dean Jones, said: “Unfortunately, we have located the body of a woman in her 20s in the River Severn during our searches last night.

"The family have been informed, but formal identification has not yet taken place.”
He continued: “A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday and remains in police custody, this is an isolated incident and I can confirm that we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.”
Searches of the River Severn have now concluded.
Officers have been at three locations in Worcester including the Diglis footbridge, Waterworks Road and Cheviot Close since yesterday morning as part of the ongoing murder investigation.

Cordons remain in place at Waterworks Road and Cheviot Close in Worcester. The Diglis footbridge cordon has now been removed.
