THE source of a mystery noise appears to have been found, with reports it has now stopped after a councillor spoke to the culprit.
Councillor Andy Roberts said since speaking to the resident in the last fortnight, the noise had now stopped - but if it returns he is encouraging people to again report it.
We previously reported on the loud bass noise so loud it had rumbled houses in Warndon Villages. Residents have complained about the noise that they say has vibrated through their houses, shaking mirrors, pictures and windows and affecting their hearing. They said the noise had become particularly loud in late January, often between 6.30pm and 8pm every night.

County councillor for Warndon Parish councillor, Cllr Roberts , said since the Worcester News' story, and making an appeal on social media, the city resident responsible had come forward. Cllr Roberts said: "After the appeal for people to let me know if they could locate it, a chap got in touch and said he followed a vehicle blasting out a lot of noise, and he had got the registration number.
"I was going to pursue that. But then I got a message from a man, who will remain nameless, who said he came home from work about 7pm in the evening and he has got a massive stereo system in his car.
"His relaxation, after a long day at work, was to give himself a good blast (of music) on the way home. He said 'it is me, you will know as it won't happen anymore'.
"I said I hope it is you and in the meantime it was left with police. I think the police were sensible with him as now the problem has stopped, and everybody is happy.
"If it returns people should let me know."
The councillor revealed no further details on the man, other then to say he was not from Warndon Villages but lived in the city and frequently drove through the area on his way home.
A Worcestershire Regulatory Services spokesman, which investigates issues like noise, had previously told us they had received no reports of noise issues in Warndon.
