THREE people are due in court today on theft, fraud and money laundering charges over an alleged £290,000 theft against the NHS trust which manages Worcester hospital.

Solomon Adeyemi faces charges of being concerned in the acquisition, retention or use of criminal property by fraudulently obtaining payments of money from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

This offence is alleged to have taken place between October 23, 2017 and February 2, 2020 and involve obtaining the payments of behalf of Emmanuel Nbanga and Remilekun Olusesi.

The 52-year-old of Cole Hill Lane, Birmingham also faces charges of concealing/disguising/converting or transferring criminal property, acquiring/using criminal property when he appears before magistrates in Worcester this morning.

He also faces a charge of possessing/controlling identity documents with intent (a Nigerian passport in the name of Patrick Smith) between November 28, 2013 and June 25, 2017.

Also in court are Emmanuel Nbanga, 40, of Skye Close, Birmingham who is up for fraud by abuse of position while working as materials management assistant at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

This is alleged to have taken place between October 23, 2017 and September 11, 2019.

He is also up for theft by an employee of £291,833 from the trust, entering into/being concerned in the acquisition, retention and use of criminal property between October 23, 2017 and February 2, 2020 and for concealing/disguising/converting/transferring or removing criminal property between December 27, 2017 and November 4, 2019. This is said on the charge to involve the electronic transfer to the personal bank accounts of Solomon Adeyemi and Remilekun Olusesi.

Olusesi, 35, of Skye Close, Birmingham is up for concealing/disguising/transferring/removing criminal property involving payments of money from the acute trust into the personal bank accounts of Olusesi, Nbanga and Adeyemi.

The defendant also faces charges of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property from Ultimate Medcical UK Ltd which was fraudulently obtained from the acute trust; and for entering into/being concerned in the acquisition/retention or use of criminal property (again, payments of money from the acute trust).

Meanwhile, at Worcester Crown Court the Redditch murder trial continues following the fatal stabbing of Colton Bryan who was 22 years old.

Adam Carpenter, 21, of Wharrington Hill, Redditch, Faisal Fiaz, 21, of Millsbro Road, Redditch and Mohammed Saddam Hussain, 25, of Oakfield Avenue, Birmingham deny murder and conspiracy to rob following the stabbing shortly after 9.30pm on July 15 last year.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Hammed Hussain, the brother of defendant Mohammed Saddam Hussain, left the country after the stabbing which involved a large hunting knife nine inches long is still being sought by the authorities in connection with Mr Bryan's murder.
