A STORY in the Worcester News on Monday, November 23 was incorrect in stating that the number of Covid patients at Worcestershire's hospitals was currently higher than the first peak in April.
The article stated that people with Covid occupying a bed stood at 140 up to Thursday last week, compared to 178 beds in the previous.
The article had also stated that the number of Covid patients using beds was higher than the peak in the first wave which was 141 beds on April 6.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said the maximum number of Covid patients across the trust was at its highest on April 10 when 143 patients were in the care of the county's hospitals.
The hospital trust added that, as of last week, 79 patients with Covid were under its care.
The Worcester News did make a request for comment from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust before the story was published on Monday, November 23 but did not receive a reply.
