CONSTRUCTION of another footbridge over a county road is set to begin next month.
The Broomhall Way Footbridge over the A4440 Southern Link Road, is set to have its main span installed from December 4, adding another route from the A4440 to Power Park in St Peter's.
The main span of the bridge will be moved into place over the weekend of Friday 4th – Monday 7th December, subject to suitable weather conditions.
To allow the bridge to be moved into place, the A4440 will be completely closed between the Ketch and Norton roundabouts from 9pm on December 4 until 5am on December7.
A diversion will be in place and St Peter's Drive, Norton Road and Crookbarrow Way will remain open throughout.

Once the main span of the bridge is in place, further works will be needed before the bridge becomes fully ready for use.
These include building approach ramps and connecting it to the road to allow pedestrian access.
Councillor Ken Pollock, cabinet member with responsibility for economy and infrastructure for Worcestershire County Council, said: "The major milestones on the Southern Link Road scheme are coming thick and fast, with yet another bridge to improve walking and cycling connectivity, being moved into place next month.
"This bridge, alongside two further bridges, a new underpass and a much wider shared walking and cycle path between the Ketch roundabout and Powick roundabout, will vastly improve the walking and cycling routes in the area.

"This is in addition to the scheme providing a dual carriageway for traffic from the M5 to Powick roundabout."
Broomhall Way Footbridge is one of four crossings being installed as part of the wider Southern Link Road scheme.
They include Crookbarrow Way Footbridge, which opened for use earlier this year, Hams Way Footbridge, which is set to open before Christmas and an underpass near the Ketch roundabout which will be ready toward the end of the Southern Link Road scheme.
