TWO areas in the city have recorded more than ten cases during the last week - the first time this has happened in five months.

Eleven cases were recorded in Dines Green and St John's and ten cases were recorded in Battenhall and Diglis according to the latest data published by Public Health England that shows which areas in Worcester have recorded three new cases or more between September 27 and October 3.

It is the first time an area of Worcester has recorded ten or more cases in a week since early May.

Seven cases were recorded in Warndon East and seven cases were also recorded in Worcester Town North - the area covering many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes – which includes most of the city centre, Arboretum and Barbourne - and Worcester Town South, which covers most of the city centre towards Worcester Cathedral as well as Sidbury, parts of London Road, Wyld's Lane and Lowesmoor.

Four cases were recorded in Northwick, Barbourne and Rainbow Hill and King George’s Field - which covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road.

Four cases were also recorded in Lower Wick and Bromwich Road and Lyppard Grange.

Three cases were recorded in Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood.

The figures are split into several ‘middle super output areas’ – which is used by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). These zones are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people.

Areas with fewer than two cases are not highlighted by Public Health England.
