A VINTAGE shop in Worcester has moved into new and larger premises after rebranding.

No. 13 Emporium has moved to a front-facing site on the Foregate having previously been Make n Mend at Unit One in the Hopmarket.

The shop provides sewing services, upholstery, industrial lighting, recycled furniture and vintage/retro goods, and owner Caroline Wickham said she hopes to expand into home furnishings such as cushions and blinds.

She said: "We are so thrilled to announce the opening of our new store.

"We had grown out of our former premises and were delighted when a bigger unit became available.

"It also gave us the opportunity to rebrand as our services have grown.”

Make n Mend originally opened its doors in the Hopmarket in July 2018 with Mrs Wickham having worked from home for the previous decade.

As her workload increased, she needed more space to work and her offerings grew to include sewing services upholstery and craft classes including sewing and chalk.

Mrs Wickham added her plans for the future include offering decoupage, painted furniture and renting out one of the two rooms her new premises has attached for classes and meetings (coronavirus dependent).

Worcester’s Hopmarket is home to a range of independent retailers, including hairdressers, gift shops and cafes.

The Hopmarket has been home to businesses since 1731, when it was where dealers came to trade hops.

In the early 1900s the site was replaced with the current building to become a hotel and bank before being converted into a shopping courtyard.

No 13 Emporium is open from Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 5.30pm and Sunday 11am to 4.30pm.
