RESIDENTS are facing difficulties getting a test for Covid-19 in Worcestershire.
As a result, county residents are not being tested on the large scale we have seen in previously weeks.
This is having an impact on the published daily figures of Covid-19 cases in the county.
Numbers of new cases appear low, but this is not a true reflection of the situation in Worcestershire.
Dr. Kathryn Cobain, the Director for Public Health in Worcestershire said: “We should not let the current low positive figures for the county, fool us into thinking Covid-19 is on the decline.
"The figures are not a true picture as residents with symptoms are not being tested.
"Now is not the time to be complacent or to think the virus has gone away.
"It is still with us, in our communities and as we go about our daily lives.
"If you have a symptom of Covid-19, it is really important that you keep trying to book a test, and that you stay at home and do not mix with other people. “
Test slots do become available online as the system is updated, and anyone with a symptom of Covid-19 should continue to try to book a test.
