THIS year's Worcestershire Education Awards have been cancelled due to the coronavirus social distancing restrictions.
The popular annual awards ceremony was due to take place on June 20 but then, with the outbreak of Covid-19 across the nation, the event was pushed back until October 21 in the hope that some kind of physical presentation would be possible at the University Arena in Hylton Road, Worcester.
However, due to the restrictions on gatherings and in the interest of safety, the decision has been made to call off the 2020 awards and instead focus on 2021.
Organised by the Worcester News in partnership with the University of Worcester, the education awards excellence in the industry across the county and have grown in popularity and scale since the initial launch in 2017.
Hundreds of people and organisations are nominated across 12 award categories, with finalists attending the ceremony where winners are announced after a gala dinner.
