A WEATHER warning put in place for high winds across Worcestershire has been upgraded to amber.
The Met Office's weather warning, which had been yellow for high winds, has been upgraded as Storm Francis hits the county.
Residents are being warned to stay safe as conditions could put lives at risk.
The Malvern Hills Trust urged walkers to take care if they decide to go up to the hills this afternoon.
In a tweet, the trust said: "Please take care if visiting the Malvern Hills and Commons this afternoon.
"The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind and we're expecting to see strong gusts which could cause damage to some trees."
Later in the morning of August 25, the warning was upgraded from yellow to amber.
The full weather warning said: "Very strong winds are likely to bring disruption to parts of England and Wales Tuesday during afternoon and evening.
"Longer journey times and cancellations likely, as road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected
"Some roads and bridges likely to close
"There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
"Flying debris is likely and could lead to Injuries or danger to life and probably some damage to buildings and trees, such as tiles blown from roofs and branches on roads
"Injuries and danger to life is likely from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties."
