It’s national afternoon tea week next week- which is the perfect excuse to visit some of Worcester’s best afternoon tea venues.
Here are four places you absolutely need to visit if you love dainty sandwiches and scones.
G & Tea

G & Tea specialise in luxurious afternoon teas- and vegetarian sandwich options are available on request.
Their Traditional Afternoon Tea costs £15 for one or £28.50 for two- it consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes of the day and a homemade scone.
If you don’t have a sweet tooth, G & Tea also has a savoury afternoon tea- this includes: a homemade cheese and spinach scone, Yorkshire teabread with Wensleydale and crisps- this costs £10 for one or £18.50 for two.
Both afternoon teas are served with a drink of your choosing.
Best of all, if you book on the 12th, 19th and 26th of August you can get afternoon tea for half price under the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Twisted Spoon

The Twisted Spoon serves three tiers of finger sandwiches, warm mini savouries, bite sized cakes- and of course, homemade scones.
If you stick with coffee and tea, the afternoon tea is a steal at £10.95 per guest.
To add a bottle of white prosecco, the afternoon tea will cost £15.95 per person.
New to the Twisted Spoon are gin and tonic tea pots and afternoon tea which cost £19.95 per person.
This afternoon tea is served from 2pm-5pm each day.
Stanbrook Abbey Hotel

Enjoy afternoon tea with a countryside view when you visit Stanbrook Abbey Hotel.
They have a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade cakes, pastries- and of course, scones, cream and jam.
All of this can be washed down with freshly brewed loose tea.
Afternoon teas are £26.96 per person and is served between 1:30pm-4:30pm.
The Garden Tea Rooms

Garden Tea Rooms have a variety of afternoon teas to choose from.
Their traditional afternoon tea for two is £16 and includes a bot of tea, two scones and a cake.
A savoury high tea will cost £14.50 per person and includes: A range of freshly made sandwiches, homemade scones, cake from our daily display and is served with a pot of tea.
For a lighter bite, you can have a scone and a pot of tea for just a fiver per person.
They have a limited availability so advanced booking is essential if you want an afternoon tea.
