A WOMAN who tried to take drugs into prison has had her car towed away from a city court after she was sent to jail herself.
Amber Davies was jailed for three years at Worcester Crown Court for taking list A articles into prison including heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis. The 36-year-old left her Volkswagen Golf parked in one of the disabled bays near the front of the court.
The defendant, of Maycock Avenue, Coventry received an immediate custodial sentence from Judge Nicolas Cartwright at the hearing, held around 10 days ago.
Security staff were present when the vehicle was put on a recovery truck shortly after noon on Monday. The Worcester News understands that disabled bays are at a premium at the city’s crown and county court in Foregate Street and the car could not be left in the bay indefinitely for the convenience of other visitors.
We have been informed the that car which was part of the Motability Scheme is now destined for auction in Birmingham.
