EIGHT roles have been put at risk of redundancy at a Worcester firm.
Gtech’s chief executive, Nick Grey, has confirmed eight jobs have been put at risk - mostly managerial roles.
Mr Grey said: "Gtech regularly look to modernise our approach to business.
“We aim to reduce management layers and put maximum focus on operational roles.
“We are currently recruiting for new customer service advisers, with the possibility of working from home.”
However, the company is planning to employ over 20 members of staff this year, with around 12 in the short term.
An employee at the company in Brindley Road, who wants to remain unnamed, said: “We had emails from our individual team leader to say they’ve gone – the company hasn’t informed us yet, which is concerning.
“There’s around 70 to 80 of us in the customer service department but we don’t have our security blanket anymore.

“We are being kept in the dark about it.”
The Gtech employee added: “I don’t understand why they haven’t been furloughed. It would have been cheaper for the company to furlough them especially when we are due back to work.
“I am in panic mode. None of us know where we stand anymore. It’s a bit concerning considering there is no proper management.
“The company over the last week have kept their employees in the dark about why their managers were not available to help with difficult customer queries or to help guide them through personal problems when dealing with the current global crisis.
“This has left the advisors with a great deal of anxiety as to whether their jobs are safe, but also who they turn to when things get tough with work or with potentially legal advice."
“The company refuses to acknowledge the advisors concerns and will only currently tell them they ‘will be told in due course.’
“It should also be noted that the employees had no idea about the ventilators until the public started calling in about them and had no prior knowledge.”
