POLITICIANS of all colours and readers have been passing on their best wishes to the Prime Minister after it was revealed he is now in intensive care.
Mr Johnson, 55, was admitted to St Thomas’ hospital in central London on Sunday after his coronavirus symptoms persisted for 10 days. His doctors advised that he be admitted to intensive care on Monday evening. Yesterday a Number 10 spokesman said the PM was was stable, being given oxygen and not on a ventilator.
Worcester MP Robin Walker, who is part of the government as a Minister of State for Northern Ireland, tweeted: “Joining millions in saying a prayer for the PM - get better Boris, your country needs you.”
Nigel Huddleston, MP for Mid Worcestershire and Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage, tweeted: “Thoughts and prayers are with the Prime Minister and his family. He is in good hands at Guy’s and St Thomas’.”
Harriett Baldwin, MP West Worcestershire, tweeted: “Come on Boris Johnson - you have the prayers and good wishes for a full recovery from millions and millions of people rooting for you.”

Sajid Javid, MP for Bromsgrove who until recently was the PM’s Chancellor, tweeted: “Boris is one of the strongest people I know. Thinking of him, Carrie and his family tonight. Get well soon, the country needs you.”
Lynn Denham, who stood as Labour candidate in the city’s last general election said: “It is just awful, thoughts are with him and everyone fighting this virus.”
Richard Udall, Labour councillor for St John’s, tweeted: “Shocking news about Boris Johnson. Supporters and opponents are united in wishing him a speedy recovery.”
Former MP Mike Foster said: “Everybody would want to wish him a quick recovery, for him, for the county he leads, and his family.”
On Worcester News’ Facebook page readers also passed on their support for the PM.
Diana Stanley said: “Fight this Boris, so many are relying on you. Get well soon.”
Michelle Ballard said: “Keep fighting Boris you have the support of the UK.”
Roslyn Tandy added: “My prayers go out to Boris, pray he gets better.”
Former Tory party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith said: “The Boris I know is a fighter. He never gives up.”
It has been revealed the PM asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary during this period.
