THE headteacher of a primary school has reassured parents after a child brought a knife into school.
The headteacher of Northwick Manor Primary School contacted parents after a year 6 boy brought a knife to the school on Wednesday (March 4).
Police were called and the Worcester News understands the boy has been excluded for a week.
It is believed the boy took the knife into school – which has now been confiscated – to show to his peers.

A police safety officer is set to organise with the primary school a knife safety lesson to educate the children.
Sian Williams, headteacher of the school in Northwick Road said: “Both myself and the CEO, as well as the leadership team and School Improvement Board at Northwick Manor, are taking this isolated incident extremely seriously.
“The children’s safety comes first and always will.
“The child involved is currently not in school and a full and proper investigation is underway.
“Our very supportive and trusting parent group are, quite rightly, concerned and we are working hard to provide reassurance during this very difficult time.”
A grandmother, who wants to remain anonymous, told the Worcester News that parents received a letter on Wednesday informing them of the incident.
She said: “My granddaughter was frightened to go into school.”
A police spokesman said: “We are aware of a knife being taken into the primary school on March 4.
“The knife has been confiscated.
“We believe the pupil took it in to show other pupils at the school and that no threats were made to any other pupils.
“Our safer school officers will be contacting the school to arrange a knife safety input with the children.”
