Worcester Male Voice Choir and Worcester City Youth Brass (WCB) are joining forces to present 'Songs from the Hollywood Bowl'.

On offer and raising the rafters at Nunnery Wood High School will be the tunes that added the glitz and glamour to the movie capital of the world.

A spokesman said: "Worcester Male Voice choir and Worcester City Youth Brass, conspire again, this time to bring you, ‘Songs from the Hollywood Bowl’.

Mutual admiration has led to this musical collaboration, and it all began on a cold day in November.

Worcester Male Voice Choir have established a good relationship with WCB since performing along side them at the Worcester Festival of Remembrance, braving wintry conditions on a Sunday morning.

"This lead to further involvement, with WCB performing at the choir’s Annual Concert and it’s Christmas Concerts at Pershore. The band impressed our audiences with a virtuosity and variety that belied their age. Their musical Director, Nicky Dawe, also made an impression on the choir, leading the joint numbers. She definitely has the X factor."

The spokesman added: "The choir felt it should reward them, so endeavoured to organise a concert, with proceeds going to support the band’s activities, specifically waterproof clothing for their remembrance day performance and it’s summer tour to Australia and New Zealand.

The date for the concert at Nunnery Wood high School Theatre will be February 29, from 7.00pm.

Tickets for the concert are available from Worcester Tourist Information (Guildhall), Online at www.eventbrite.co.uk or from the the choir, by phoning 07731 829947.
