A CHICKEN shop in Worcester has been re-inspected and given an improved food hygiene score after a dispute concerning its previous rating.
Jaqk’s in Foregate Street, has received a four-star rating after it was inspected on January 23.
Owner Aqeel Mohammed said the rating was back where it should be, adding: “We are really happy the dispute has been resolved.

“It would have been five stars but for a couple of issues, but those are easy to fix so we are hoping for a five star review next time.
“The inspector came and checked the paperwork and everything was fine, they were happy with it.
“Thanks to all our customers who have been loyal to us - we really appreciate their support.”
The re-inspection said handling of food and management of food safety were both good, while the cleanliness of the building was generally satisfactory.
Jaqk’s was re-inspected after it had been previously given a zero rating in November.
Within days it was inspected and was given a two-star rating.
However, an IT error from the council meant the zero rating was online for a brief period before being removed and updated.
Following the dispute, Worcestershire Regulatory Services apologised to Mr Mohammed and agreed to a free re-inspection.
At the time, a council spokesman confirmed they had apologised for the error, saying: “We have apologised for an IT issue which resulted in the lower rating being published. This was corrected within 24 hours and as a goodwill gesture, we have agreed to re-inspect the outlet at no cost to its owner in the New Year”
Mr Mohammed said at the time of the initial inspection the council’s inspector had not checked the requisite paperwork which would have given the fast food outlet a higher score. He said: “That paperwork makes a huge impact on the score you get.”
Last month, Jaqk’s scrapped plans to open until 5am on weekends.
