A 26-YEAR-OLD man has avoided prison despite attacking a woman, which breached a previous order he was given for assaulting the same victim.
Deen Mohammed Chaudhary, of Upper Park Street in Worcester, was sentenced at Worcester Magistrates Court on January 9 after being found guilty of the assault on September 15. He was also convicted of damaging his victim’s mobile phone.
By committing these offences, Chaudhary breached a previous court order he was given in January 2019 for assaulting the same victim. Despite this, magistrates decided not to immediately jail Chaudhary. He was sentenced to a total of 24 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.
Magistrates also ordered Chaudhary to pay a total of £942 in court costs and compensation, as well as attending a rehabilitation programme.
Also at the magistrates court on January 9, Robert William McKenzie, 55, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour. The court heard that the offence took place on December 4, when he assaulted a police officer attempting to arrest him. McKenzie, who gave his address as Maggs Day Centre, was sentenced to a community order.
Also at the court on January 9, Miroslawa Maria Milkowska, aged 36, of Harvey Walk in Worcester, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while being disqualified, not having insurance and driving a defective vehicle. The offences took place on November 21.
She also pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified on December 3 and driving without insurance on December 5. She was sentenced to a total of four weeks in prison, suspended for one year, and banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 15 months. Milkowska was also ordered by magistrates to pay costs and a fine totalling £497.
In the same court on the same date, Peter Finch, aged 54, of Redcliffe Street in Worcester, admitted possessing a controlled class B drug on December 8. He was ordered by magistrates to pay court costs and a fine, totalling £297.
