A PENSIONER collapsed at a bus stop and a member of the public gave first aid.
Chris McBride, 29, was walking back from the Aldi supermarket doing some last minute Christmas shopping, when he spotted a man on the ground on the path in St John's which runs alongside the A44, near to the roundabout.
Mr McBride said: "I ran over and another person was there and we were both first-aid trained.
"I checked him and we started to give chest compressions.
"After a short time, paramedics arrived and took over.
"They thanked me.
"It wasn't a nice thing to have to do.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to near Papa Johns takeaway in St John's to a report of a man a serious condition.
"Two ambulances, a critical care car and the Midlands Air Ambulance arrived on the scene.
"He received specialist trauma care and was transported by road to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
