A YOUNG man has appeared in court accused of fracturing someone's skull in a Worcester nightclub.

Jordan Greenham, 24, of Lancelott Court, Pershore appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court last Thursday.

Greenham gave no indication of plea to the charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Roger Bleazard, prosecuting, said the case should be transferred to Worcester Crown Court.

The case will next be heard at Worcester Crown Court on January 9.

Meanwhile at the magistrates court, Lewis Barson, of Tiree Avenue, Worcester, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Mr Bleazard told magistrates the 19-year-old was being drunk and disorderly in The Cross on November 17.

He explained others may have received an on the spot fixed penalty, but Barson was back in court as he committed a similar offence earlier this year.

Barson, defending himself, said he was going to stop going out and getting drunk, adding he was sorry about what happened. He was fined £80, and ordered to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £32 - a total of £247 that Barson will pay off a rate of £20 per week.
