A WOMAN whose body was found in Upton has been named locally as Sarah Hopkins.
Floral tributes have been laid near where her body was found by Upton fire station.
One read: "To my beautiful Sara. You will never be forgotten."
Another said: "Taken too soon. RIP with the angels."
Police said a 25-year-old woman was found unresponsive in Causeway Lane, near to Upton fire station, after they were called at around 8am yesterday.
A 44 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Her next of kin has been informed.
The area where the body was found remains cordoned off today.
Brian Green who lives next to the fire station said: "I didn't hear anything last night or this morning, I didn't really know. It is a shock. It's always a shock when something like that happens. This is a quiet area normally. We have had a few incidents with drunks outside the club sometimes in the last couple of years.
"I am very sorry to hear about it."
