THE HOME Office has delayed the ‘divorce’ between two police forces that were on the cusp of separation, according to reports.
Both West Mercia and Warwickshire police forces were due to end their partnership on October 8, having shared resources, including forensics, since 2012.
But Warwickshire Police asked the Home Office for the delay, as they felt they wanted more time for the process, reports say.
The two forces had been sharing work, including forensics, for the last seven years.

Anthony Bangham and Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion said there would be no risk to public safety following the split and were prepared to stand alone.
Reports say the two forces will remain joined for at least three months.
