A FIVE-year old boy has inspired the community to hold ‘Oscar days’ to raise funds which will go towards lifesaving treatment.
An overwhelming amount of support has been given to Oscar Saxelby-Lee in a bid to raise the £500,000 sum needed for him to have treatment in Singapore to treat his leukaemia.
The team from Worcester News took part in a home clothes day on October 1 to support Oscar’s appeal and raised £247,20.
Poppins Day Nursery, in Bromwich Road, held their event on September 27, with a bake sale, pyjama day and a 1km run led by Mark Wall and raised £746.72.

On October 1, Fort Royal Primary School in Wyld's Lane, which caters for children with a range of special needs, took part in a non-uniform day.
The school council decided to organise a disco in the afternoon to help Oscar's family reach their target. Parents, staff and children raised £517.
Regency High School, in Carnforth Drive, hosted an event for Oscar on September 27. The school held a Friends of Regency fundraising event where over £400 was raised.
Warriors will stage a charity rugby match on Wednesday, October 9 between West Mercia Police and neighbouring force Warwickshire Police. So far West Mercia Police have raised £3,493.75.
Mark Wall completed seven marathons in seven days and raised £2,358.75.
Mike Painter, headteacher from Cherry Orchard Primary, will have his hair shaved off on October 4 and has currently raised £2,162.50.
