ENVIRONMENTAL protestors say they will block a street in Worcester on Friday as part of a civil disobedience campaign.
Extinction Rebellion members say they will be “swarming” to block one of the busiest roads in Worcester - but they have not yet revealed which one. The location will be announced on the morning of a series of national youth and general climate strikes set to be held on September 20.

A spokesman said: “We be rebelling until XR’s three demands are met: The government and county council must tell the truth about how deadly our situation is by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change. The government and county council must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2025. The Government must create and be led by the decisions of a citizens’ assembly on climate and ecological justice.”
