CASH has been stolen from a children's activity centre after thieves broke in.
Cheeky Monkeys Play Centre in Orchard Street provides activities for children up to 11 years old
It is not known how much cash was taken.
Posting on the centre’s Facebook page,Richard Fletcher, 40, owner and manager, said: “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we will be closed today [Sunday September 15].
Last night Saturday September 14] we were broken in to and the people responsible have made one hell of our mess of my play centre.
“If anyone has any information please get in touch.”
Mr Fletcher declined to comment further when the Worcester News visited yesterday.
A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: “We were called at around 9.38am on Sunday 15 September to reports of a suspected burglary that had occurred over-night at a business in Orchard Street, Worcester.
“An investigation is currently on-going but we are appealing for information from members of the community that may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area during the evening of Saturday 14 to the morning of Sunday 15 September.”
Members of the Cheeky Monkeys Facebook page commented on the raid.
Charlotte Emily Blundell said: “What lowlifes to break into a kids’ play centre.
“I hope they catch them."
Shakayla Bailey said: “Oh gosh - that’s awful and I’m so sorry to hear this.
“I hope you get everything sorted soon.”
Zoe Perry said: “So sorry to hear this -there are some horrible people out there.”
Emma Wright said: “I can’t believe someone could stoop so low.
“Hope they get caught and get what they deserve.”
Ade Dale Christopher Cowl said: “That’s a horrible thing to do to such a great place. “Hopefully you’ve got cctv images of those responsible.”

Carys Thurlby said: “Terrible to break in but beyond the pale to make a mess too.
Lottie Marston: “I hope you can get it sorted soon and they haven’t caused too much damage.” Responding to more than 100 comments, Mr Fletcher said: “It’s the worst thing I have ever had to do since opening, telling family’s that I have to cancel their party.”
