MEDIEVAL history was brought to life during a Bank Holiday event at Worcester’s popular Commandery museum.
Visitors enjoying the good weather flocked to the Sidbury-based museum, which was celebrating history between 1203 to 1485.
Events included archery, food, music and demonstrations, while characters from the Middle Ages were on hand for families to talk to, to learn more about the period.
Youngsters also got in the spirit by dressing in medieval clothing.
The Commandery’s history as the former Hospital of St Wulstan was also celebrated through talks and tours.
The museum worked with living history group Amicorum to put on the three-day event.
Kerry Whitehouse, interpretation and learning co-ordinator at The Commandery, said: “There has been a good turnout throughout the weekend.
“On Bank Holiday Monday we have had demonstrations of sword fighting, and people talking about swords and armour, and a shooting demonstration.
“We had a great set up for people to enjoy, and good weather always helps for these events.”
Robyn Rooney, from The Commandery, added: “You never know what turnout you will get during bank holiday weekends, with so many things going on, plus we have had the Sidbury roadworks so we are trying to make sure people remember we are still here and open.
“It has been busy, which is great for everyone.”
