POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of wasting police time following an incident in the city centre over the weekend.
We reported how a man was taken to hospital after police were called to Broad Street, at 6.20am on Saturday morning.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said it was alleged the man was a victim of an assault and robbery. However, police say this was subsequently proven not to be the case and his injuries were self-inflicted.
The Worcester News understands police were called to near the Crowngate Shopping Centre after concern for the welfare of the unnamed man.
A cordon was in place until it was removed at around 8am.
