MULTIPLE items of rubbish have been fly-tipped at the side of a rural lane.
An estimated 30 bags, containing what appears to be household rubbish, is shown in shocking photographs of Hulls Lane in Droitwich.
Droitwich Town Council cllr Bob Brookes said: “This is absolutely appalling as to how someone could do this.
"I urge anyone with information to contact the police."
Dumping of waste in this way is often done so an individual or company can avoid paying a commercial disposal charge.
On the Spotted Droitwich Facebook group, member Alison Startling called the activity “shocking”, while Chris Powell branded the person “scum” .
Wendy Carter from
, said:“ Fly-tipping is not only unpleasant to see but is also dangerous for our environment and wildlife.
“Whether it attracts animals that then get trapped or whether it’s toxic chemicals that harm our environment, it’s far from a harmless crime.
“As we’re becoming more aware of the problems that plastic is causing to our oceans, rivers and to ourselves, it’s disappointing that people are still illegally disposing of their rubbish in our countryside.
Sharon Casswell, client services manager at Wychavon District Council, said: “We have received a report of fly-tipping on Hulls Lane in Droitwich.
"The rubbish will be checked for evidence before it is removed.
"Fly-tipping is a blight on our beautiful district which is dangerous and costs the taxpayers money to clean up.
"Residents can play their part in helping to reduce fly-tipping by ensuring they use a registered waste carrier to dispose of their waste.
"Failure to do so could result in prosecution if their rubbish is later fly-tipped even if they were not the ones responsible.
"We would urge people to report fly-tipping to our
with as much information as possible.”
