YELLOW rain and wind warnings remain in place for much of England and Wales today and going into tomorrow.
The bad weather is blamed on an unseasonable area of low-pressure which is due to arrive this afternoon.
Last night, heavy rain fell across the region, and the rain warning is still in force until midnight.
In the worst affected regions, including parts of northern Scotland, communities may see 40-60mm of rain during the warning period, with 10-15mm of rain expected widely.
The first wind warning, starts at 3pm today and covers West Wales, Devon and Cornwall and the Channel coast as far east as Worthing.
As the low-pressure system begins to move eastwards, a second warning will come into force for all day Saturday, covering the whole of Wales and southern and central England.
This morning's rain is clearing, with brighter skies following behind.
This afternoon will then see a scattering of showers develop, turning heavy and possibly thundery in places.
It will feel warm and humid, but winds will begin to strengthen later.
Tonight will bring a mix of clear spells and a scattering of showers, possibly heavy at times. Mild overnight, but increasingly windy.
Saturday will bring sunny spells and a few showers, with the showers possibly heavy in places.
It will be very windy, with a risk of gales across the higher ground, especially during the afternoon.
