WORCESTERSHIRE MP's have united behind Boris Johnson, who has been announced as the new leader of the Conservative Party.
Mr Johnson, who polled 92,153 votes in a party membership ballot, takes over as Prime Minister from Theresa May tomorrow.
His rival in the ballot, Jeremy Hunt, tweeted after defeat that Mr Johnson would be a "great PM", while Mrs May said she promised him "full support from the backbenches".
Following the announcement, county MP's quickly congratulated the former Foreign Secretary and London mayor.
Nigel Huddleston, Mid Worcestershire MP, said: "Boris Johnson presented a positive vision for the UK’s domestic agenda, and I look forward to helping him deliver on the commitments he made during the campaign to further improve our vital public services. I will do all that I can to support Mr Johnson’s efforts to ensure we deliver on the referendum result and leave the EU as quickly, and as orderly, as possible."
Harriett Baldwin, West Worcestershire MP, said: "It is now crucial that the Conservative Party unite behind the PM, deliver a successful Brexit and that we continue with the policies that have led to a strong economy, record employment, record funding for the NHS and schools."
And Robin Walker, Worcester's MP, added: "Congratulations to our next Prime Minister with an emphatic victory in the leadership contest.
"Look forward to working with whole Worcester Conservatives team to support the Conservative Party's delivering a one nation agenda for the country."
Mrs May will officially tender her resignation to the Queen after taking Prime Minister’s Questions for the final time tomorrow afternoon, before Mr Johnson then meets the head of state and enters Number 10.
