COSMETICS thieves, drink drivers and more were in court in Worcester over the past week.
Here are some of the highlights.
Craig Edge, 27, of Sudeley Road, Nuneaton, appeared before magistrates in Worcester by video link charged with posession of an electronic communications device, namely a black mobile phone, inside HMP Hewell in Redditch.
Edge indicated a guilty plea and was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £115.
Chance Johnson, 20, of Moors Avenue, Cheltenham, is to stand trial after pleading not guilty to drink driving, destroying crops and assaulting a police officer.
The charges state that on June 16, he drove his Mercedes on Arrow Lane, Offenham, while over the legal alcohol limit.
The charges also state that on the same day he destroyed £200 worth of crops in North Littleton, and assaulted emergency worker PC Penney.
Mr Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges, and will appear at court in Worcester on August 16 for trial.
Lee Perry, 44, of Hawthorne Road, Willenhall, stole alcohol worth £245.70 from Waitrose in Malvern on June 18 this year.
In addition to this, he also took steak valued at £194 from Marks and Spencers in Malvern on the same day and stole cosmetics and and health and beauty products worth £1,500 from Boots in Malvern.
Perry was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison for the thefts after indicating a guilty plea while appearing via video link at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 4.
He was also ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for Mark Conway, 37, of Northwick Road, Evesham, who failed to appear in court on July 4 to face 12 charges of theft from supermarkets.
