THE Unsung Hero Award recognises a person’s outstanding personality and enthusiastic approach and who can also demonstrate that they go the extra mile.
Margaret Jones, from Fort Royal Community Primary School was granted winner of this award.
Mrs Jones’ energy and commitment to raising vital funds is truly inspiring.
She performs vital work in ensuring that children with complex needs can get the best chance in education, and thoroughly deserves to be recognised for this.
Mrs Jones said: “It feels surreal. This award is for everyone who puts in the work behind the scenes at schools across the county.
“Thank you to the head, Ed Francis and all the staff, parents and pupils.”
She added: “My job is all about trying to get those extra things that make a difference to these kids’ education.
“When you see the face of the child using a wheelchair swing for the first time it is amazing and so rewarding.”
