READERS may well find today’s front page story a little distressing.
A family - including a teenage girl - tells of their horror after seeing their pet cat Cleo killed in a vicious attack by two dogs.
Both the attack and their resulting shock and distress was caught on their own doorbell camera.
The footage also captures the dogs’ owner apologising for the situation, before he disappears from view.
But it leaves worrying questions to be answered.
Were the dogs properly under control prior to the attack happening? And what has happened to the body of poor Cleo, which the dog owner said he was taking to a vet but the family cannot now locate?
Sharon Boalch says she is concerned that a child could be hurt next.
Whether that is true, or not, this incident certainly needs investigating to find out why Cleo suffered such an unhappy end and so the family know what has happened to their beloved pet.
And it seems inevitable that this video will spark more debate about how well owners keep their dogs under control.
